Exporting Data from New TimeView (Manual Export)
Learn how to manually export data using the New Time View for efficient management and analysis of your time-related information.

Overview
TimeViewPro allows you to export chart data directly to CSV files using the Manual Export system. This feature lets you create export jobs based on your current TimeViewPro selections, including:
- Selected entities (devices, meters, sites, etc.)
- Measurement type
- Time period
Exports are created quickly and consistently, matching exactly what you see in your TimeView charts.
Accessing the Export Feature
Export Button Location
The Export button (download icon) is located in the top-right corner of the TimeViewPro interface, next to the refresh button.

Export Modes
Your experience depends on your package:
1. Auto-Create Export
If you are an optimized user you can use this automatically exported
2. Manual Export Page
(Without auto-create permission)
Clicking the export button takes you directly to the Manual Export page
You can configure exports manually from there
How the Export Process Works
Step 1: Select Data in TimeView
Before exporting, make sure you have selected:
Entities
Devices, meters, categories, groups, zones, panels, or sites from the tree view
Measurement Type
Power, Energy, Current, Cost, Voltage, Flow, Volume, or State
Time Period
6h, 24h, 7d, 30d, 1y, or a custom date range
Step 2: Click Export
Click the export button (download icon).

The system automatically:
Groups Entities by Type
Your selection is split into logical export groups:

Sites
Devices (devices, categories, subcategories, groups, zones, panels)
Meters (meters and meter categories)
Filters Unsupported Selections
The following are excluded automatically:
- Circuits (not supported yet)
- Meters incompatible with the selected measurement type

Entities incompatible with the selected measurement type
- (e.g., Categories with Current)
- Unsupported measurement types, such as Carbon
Builds Export Configurations
- Each export configuration includes:
- Selected measurement type
- Selected time period
- Automatically calculated data resolution
- Site timezone
- Temperature data (if enabled)
Step 3: Review Export Configurations
An export modal opens displaying:
- Export name (auto-generated)
- Number of entities included
- Measurement type
- Date range
- Temperature data inclusion (if applicable)
You’ll also see notices explaining why certain entities were excluded.
Step 4: Create Exports
You can choose one of the following options:

- Create – Create a single export
- Create All – Create all exports at once
- Open Manual Export – Navigate to the Manual Export page for advanced control
Step 5: Monitor Export Progress
After creation:
- Exports appear on the Manual Export page
- Status updates: Processing, Completed, or Failed
- Completed exports can be downloaded as CSV files
- Failed exports can be retried
Export Configuration Details
Automatic Export Naming
Export names are generated automatically using:
- Entity type
- Measurement type
- Time period
Example:
Devices – Power – Last 7 Days
Time Period Handling

Rolling periods (under 24 hours)
- Aligned to full day boundaries for complete data

Calendar periods (Today, This Week, This Month)
- Use exact calendar boundaries and site timezone

Custom ranges
- Preserve the exact selected start and end dates
Data Resolution
Resolution is automatically calculated to match TimeViewPro charts.

Temperature Data
If enabled in user settings:

- Included in device and meter exports
- Excluded from site exports
- Uses Celsius or Fahrenheit based on user preference
Limitations and Exclusions
Not Supported Yet
Circuits
Circuit-level exports are not currently supported
Carbon Emissions
Carbon data can be viewed in charts but cannot be exported yet
Automatic Filtering Rules
The system excludes:
- Meters that don’t support the selected measurement
- Entity types incompatible with the measurement type
- Selections that result in no valid exportable entities
Troubleshooting
Export Button Disabled
Possible causes:
- No entities selected
- Invalid time range
- Missing site configuration
Solution:
Select valid entities and a valid time period.
No Export Configurations Created
Possible causes:
- Only circuits selected
- Only incompatible entities or meters selected
- Unsupported measurement type selected
Solution:
Change entities or measurement type.
Export Creation Fails
Possible causes:
- Invalid date range
- Missing site configuration
- API errors
Solution:
Review the error message
Try creating exports individually
Use the Manual Export page for more details
Missing Data in Export
Possible causes:
- No data in selected time range
- Entities filtered out
- Resolution too coarse
Solution:
Verify chart data and review filtering notices.
