Overview
This guide provides step-by-step instructions for installing and configuring a Leviton logger with the Panoramic platform. The process involves configuring the logger through the Leviton UI and then integrating it with Panoramic for data collection and monitoring.
Prerequisites
- Access to Leviton Logger UI
- Access to Panoramic platform
- Understanding of your meter's input type (Pulse, 0-10V, or 4-20mA)
Part 1: Leviton Logger Configuration
Step 1: Create a New Device
- Navigate to Devices → Device List in the Leviton UI
- Click the Add button to create a new device

Step 2: Configure Device Settings
- Click Create Configuration to save

Step 3: Access Device Configuration
- Return to the Device List
- Click on the device number (e.g., "002") to access detailed configurations

Step 4: Configure Input Channels
- Review the device parameters page
- Click the Configure button at the bottom

Step 5: Set Input Type and Parameters
- Click the Config Point button for the channel you want to configure

- In the configuration dropdown, select your input type:
- Pulse: For pulse meters
- Current 4-20mA: For 4-20mA analog inputs
- Voltage 0-10V: For 0-10V analog inputs

- Configure the input parameters based on your selection:
For Analog Inputs (4-20mA or 0-10V):
- Recommended Setup: Set the range to match the input type range
- For 4-20mA: Set minimum to 4.000 and maximum to 20.000
- For 0-10V: Set minimum to 0.000 and maximum to 10.000
- This sends raw data to Panoramic where you'll configure the actual unit ranges

For Pulse Inputs:
- Set Pulse Multiplier to 1.000 (recommended)
- Configure the actual scaling factor in Panoramic

- Click Save Profile to save your configuration
Step 6: Configure Data Logging
- Navigate to Device List → Logging
- Set Data Logging period to 1 minute
- Click Apply to save

Step 7: Configure Data Upload to Panoramic
- Navigate to Log File Data → Setup / Upload
- Enable Upload Channel #1
- Configure the following settings:
- Protocol: Select "Obvius Building Manager Online™ (default)"
-
Upload URL: Enter
https://obvius.powerradar.energy/obvius - Password: Create and note a password (you'll need this for Panoramic)
- Selective Upload: Set to "(all)" to upload all meter data
- Click Apply to save the configuration
Part 2: Panoramic Platform Configuration
Step 1: Create a Logger in Panoramic
- Log into your Panoramic site
- Navigate to Configuration → Bridges & Loggers
- Click + Add New button
- Enter the logger details:
- Name and description
- Serial number (from Obvius logger)
- Select the appropriate model
- Save the logger configuration

Step 2: Add External Meters
- Navigate to Configuration → External Meters
- Click + Add Meter button

- Fill in the meter details:
- Meter name: Descriptive name for the meter
- Meter type: Select appropriate type (e.g., Temperature)
- Associated bridge/logger: Select the Leviton logger created in Step 1
- Channel: Select the configured channel from the logger

- Configure signal parameters:
For meters with raw data from Leviton:
- Enter the actual unit ranges (e.g., for a temperature sensor: -40°C to 125°C)
- Select appropriate units
For meters with pre-configured ranges in Leviton
- Enable "Use raw min/max values from associated logger configuration"
- For pulse meters, enter the scaling factor if not set to 1 in Obvius

- Click Save to create the meter
Verification
After completing the configuration:
- Allow a few minutes for data synchronization
- Navigate to the Time View application in Panoramic
- Verify that meter data is being received and displayed correctly
Troubleshooting Tips
- Ensure the Device Address in Leviton matches the configuration in Panoramic
- Verify the upload URL is correctly entered as
https://obvius.powerradar.energy/obvius - Check that the password in both systems matches
- Confirm the logging period is set to 1 minute for optimal data collection
- For analog inputs, ensure the range configuration matches between systems
Best Practices
- Raw Data Approach: Configure Leviton to send raw input values and set actual unit ranges in Panoramic for flexibility
- Documentation: Keep a record of device addresses, channel assignments, and scaling factors
- Testing: Verify each meter individually before configuring multiple channels
- Naming Convention: Use consistent, descriptive names across both platforms
