Two Places to Set Your Units
What is it?
TimeView's temperature and measurement units can be changed in two places: your account-wide Personal Preferences page, or the Preferences tab inside any chart's Customize chart panel. Both control the same two settings - temperature units and unit system - so use whichever is more convenient at the time.
Personal Preferences (Account-Wide)
Click your avatar in the top-right corner and select Personal Preferences.
- Temperature units - dropdown: Fahrenheit or Celsius.
- Area units - dropdown: US/Imperial or Metric.
Change either dropdown, then click Save Preferences to apply.
Note: Save Preferences also saves your name, phone number, and multi-factor authentication method from the same page. If your phone number hasn't been validated yet, Save Preferences stays disabled until you click Validate phone.

Your application language is set separately, further down the same page, using the Language dropdown and Apply Language button.
Customize Chart → Preferences (Quick Access)
For a faster way to change units while you're working in TimeView, click the gear icon (⚙) in the top-right toolbar to open the Customize chart panel, then select the Preferences tab (next to Chart).
Under Units:
- Outside temperature - toggle between °C and °F.
- Unit system - toggle between Metric and Imperial.
Changes here apply immediately and update the same setting as the Personal Preferences page.
Missing Data Handling
Also on the Preferences tab, under Missing data handling, choose how TimeView displays gaps where no data was recorded:
- Gap (null) - displays missing data as a gap in the line or series.
- Connected - connects the data points on either side of the null values.
- Connect with zero (default) - replaces missing data with zero values to show drops to zero. RSSI and outside temperature stay connected instead of dropping to zero.

Default Time Range
Under Default time range, choose which preset TimeView loads automatically when you open it:
- Rolling: last 7 days
- To-date: This week

Confirm Before Closing Unsaved Changes
The Show confirm message checkbox controls whether TimeView asks you to save before closing a tab with unsaved changes. Leave it checked (the default) to always be prompted; uncheck it to close tabs without confirmation.
