When the system is deployed, every monitored device gets a classification as part of the configuration.

In many cases we put sensors on the mains like panel mains, or building main. We also install the sensors down stream from the main. For example: on individual devices within the panel where we capture the main like lighting breakers, HVAC equipment, etc. In those cases, the system automatically calculates the consumption difference between the main and the total of the devices downstream from that main. The results of that calculation is the unclassified number.
