What It Shows

What is it?

The Real-time power widget shows your site's current power reading, updating live, scaled against a maximum value so you can see at a glance how close you are to it.

Why use it?

• Keep a live pulse on current power draw without opening TimeView.
• Scale the reading against a meaningful ceiling - either one PowerRadar calculates for you, or one you set yourself.
• Narrow the reading to the whole site or to a specific device/group, depending on what you pick in Calculate consumption of.

Adding This Widget

Real-time power is a Small widget - it takes up 1 box on your dashboard page. Find it in the Add widget picker; for the full two-step add flow and the box-cap counter, see Adding Widgets to Your Dashboard - and Sharing It.

Settings

Configure these in the Real-time power preferences window - Step 2 of adding the widget:

Default max consumption value

A numeric field (in kW) that sets the ceiling the live reading is scaled against. Helper text under the field reads: "If a value is set, it will be used as the default maximum value. Otherwise, the maximum value will be calculated based on recent data."

Show summary

A toggle that adds a summary value alongside the live reading. On by default.

Show trend

A toggle that adds a trend indicator comparing the current reading to a previous period. On by default.

Show generation only

A toggle for bidirectional sites - switches the widget to show only the generation (export) side of the reading rather than the combined signed value. Off by default. 

Calculate consumption of

A dropdown that sets the scope of the reading: Site Total (default), Devices, Groups, or Categories.

Note: The Live data preview on the right updates as you change these settings, so you can see the effect before adding the widget to your dashboard.

Reading the Widget

Once placed on your dashboard, the widget shows:

• The widget's scope as a tag next to its title - for example Site Total - reflecting what you picked in Calculate consumption of.
• A "Measurement time" timestamp for the reading (for example 17/08/2026 09:40).
• A semicircular gauge with the current reading in large type - Consumption in orange, Generation in blue underneath it - scaled between 0 and the max consumption value (calculated or set manually).
• If Show generation only is on, the gauge shows just the generation (export) side instead of both.
• If Show summary is on, an "Energy consumption summary" panel appears beside the gauge with totals for Last 24 hours, Last 7 days, and Last 30 days (in MWh).
• If Show trend is on, each of those summary lines gets a trend arrow and percentage compared to the previous period.

Things to Know

• Blank max consumption isn't "no limit." Leaving the Default max consumption value field blank means PowerRadar calculates the maximum from recent data instead of using a fixed ceiling - it doesn't remove the scale entirely.
• Summary and trend are on by default; generation-only is off. Turn either of the first two off if you want a bare reading, or turn on Show generation only for a bidirectional site's export-only view.
• Generation-only view is for bidirectional sites- coming soon.
